“We are very pleased to have facilitated the relationship between Fortnum & Mason, one of the world’s most famous luxury brands, and our local strategic partner in Dubai Al Khayyat Investments,” says Cain Global Managing Partner and Former U.S. Ambassador James P. Cain.

The 9,400-square foot, freestanding three-story flagship at the Dubai Mall is prominently positioned directly across from the majestic Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, and the stunning Dubai Fountains.  The Dubai Mall is the largest shopping destination in the world by visitors count, reporting 72 million visitors in 2013.

Fortnum & Mason joins a growing list of premium Western brands that Cain Global Partners has assisted with expansion into the surging markets of Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.  “The Fortnum & Mason opening follows on the heels of our structuring a relationship for Bang & Olufsen in China last year and the opening recently in Dubai of the Hollister brand, which we brought into the Middle East with our local strategic partner MAF Ventures,” noted Cain Global UK Partner Stephen Cooke. “We look forward to the opening of a number of additional locations of these, and other, premier brands in the coming year in the Middle East as well as other high-growth regions of the world.”

“Consumers in the surging and emerging markets of the world have a yearning for strong brands from America and Europe,” Cain said.  “We are pleased to play a role in opening new markets for Western companies by providing this vital link between the West and the East, bringing the developed and emerging markets of the world closer together.”

Joining Ambassador Cain and Mr. Cooke at the Fortnum & Mason grand opening were Ewan Venters, CEO of Fortnum & Mason, Ahmad Al Khayyat, Managing Director of AKI, Ambassador Michael Corbin, U.S. Ambassador to the UAE, and Tom Parker Bowles of London, son of Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall and stepson of Charles, the Prince of Wales.
